It is the desire of the management of The Elects’ School of Science and Technology (TESST Academy) also known as The Elects’ Academy, to be a part of your child’s success story by helping him/her secure admission into any Tertiary institution of his/her choice in Nigeria and abroad. In the light of this, we are very delighted to introduce you to our various A’level programs which would qualify your child to seek direct entry admission into 200level in any university (Home and Abroad).
The three major A’ level programs offered by our academy are Cambridge A’ level, JUPEB & IJMB programs. This letter seeks to shed more light on each of these programs, highlighting their peculiarities, benefits and requirements.
ABOUT CAMBRIDGE A’ LEVEL
- Cambridge A’ level is an internationally acclaimed advanced level program organized by Cambridge It is accepted by all universities into 200level in Nigeria universities and abroad.
A certificate will be issued upon the completion of the program which will be a beneficial addition to the candidate’s curriculum vitae (C.V) for future reference.
- DURATION: At our Academy, the Cambridge A’ Level programs is run for a minimum of (8) eight months.
- CAMBRIDGE A’ LEVEL SUBJECT
– Physics + Chemistry + Biology for students aspiring to study Medicine & Surgery/Nursing/Pharmacy, etc.
– Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics for students aspiring to study engineering courses e.g Aeronautic /Mechanical/Computer, etc.
- RESUMPTION DATE: From June to August every year.
- EXAMINATION DATE: Cambridge A’ level examination is held twice (2) in a year, MAY & OCTOBER depending on the level of preparedness of the student.
ABOUT JUPEB AND IJMB
- The Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board, popularly known as JUPEB as well as the Interim Joint Matriculation Board also known as IJMB, are Advanced Level examination bodies established to conduct examinations for students seeking direct admission into any Nigerian University.
- DURATION: 8(Eight) months.
- REQUIREMENTS: WAEC, NECO or Awaiting Result.
- SUBJECTS COMBINATIONS: Same as Cambridge subjects combinations.
- RESUMPTION DATE: From June to August every year.
- EXAMINATION DATE: JUPEB/IJMB final examination is held in June, every year.
PECULIARITIES OF THE A’LEVEL PROGRAMS (CAMBRIDGE, JUPEB & IJMB)
None of these programs require students to write UTME before they can be considered for admission. Students who have successfully completed any of the programs are qualified for direct entry admission into 200 Level in any reputable University. Certain peculiar differences should however be noted. While CAMBRIDGE is an internationally accepted certificate and qualifies students to secure admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria and abroad, JUPEB/IJMB on the other hand only qualifies students to apply for admission in Nigeria only. Also worthy of note is the variation in terms of cost; JUPEB/IJMB is more affordable than Cambridge.
CORRECTING THE MIS-CONCEPTION OF A’LEVEL PROGRAMS.
There is a popular myth often circulated by uninformed students that A’ level programs are generally difficult to undertake and hence should be dreaded. This information is totally untrue because the numerous students who have scaled through A’ Level programs in our Academy came out with excellent results along side Cambridge learners’ award. With simplified curriculum anchored by our qualified and results-oriented Teachers coupled with the diligence and hard work of our students, success is always possible.

In the light of the current situation of things in Nigeria concerning admission bottleneck, mass failure in the just concluded UTME examination and unstable academic calendar due to frequent strikes, it would undoubtedly be beneficial for your child to effectively utilize this period by enrolling in our Academy for any of our A level programs. Apart from the advantage of gaining additional knowledge, your child would have the added qualifications to seek direct entry admission into any University in less than a year. It is therefore important for Parents and Guardians to look beyond admission through UTME and embrace the Cambridge, JUPEB or IJMB as a perfect solution to admission palaver.
